Based in the Cleveland, Ohio area, SMC Interior Design is a full-service interior and exterior design firm with expertise in both residential and commercial projects. SMC Design was established in the mid-90’s by Shelly Cipriani, who has become a prominent expert in the industry. SMC Design combines extraordinary talent and global experiences to create spaces, nationally and worldwide. Shelly brings 20 years of experience and a lifetime of creativity to each project to create warm, diverse, and functional interiors. Drawing inspiration from history, art, and nature, she enjoys sharing her love of beautiful things with her clients.

With a background in fine arts, Shelly began her career in commercial art and set design before discovering her true calling in interior design. After founding her own firm, she quickly became known for her sophisticated style and thoughtful approach to transforming spaces. Her work has been featured in numerous trade and international publications, reflecting a career built on creativity and craftsmanship. Shelly’s passion for historic renovation continues to shine—most recently through her dream project in the South of France.
Up Close: When Shelly isn’t at the studio you will most likely find her in the garden. Shelly also loves to spend her free time painting and creating memories with her family. She is an international traveler and art lover, finding inspiration everywhere she goes.

Libby is an interior architecture designer with a knack for blending old charm and modern edge. She’s thoughtful on how spaces make us feel — how light, texture, and form can shift a mood or tell a story. Her love for preserving historic character meets with fresh, forward-thinking design, resulting in spaces that are as meaningful as they are unexpected. Inspired by her time studying in Italy and exploring global design influences, Libby approaches every project with an eye for detail, a sense of creativity, and a little bit of fun.
Up Close: When she isn’t working, Libby is usually on the move— traveling somewhere with friends, taking photos, and soaking in design inspiration along the way. She’s all about living life to the fullest and finding design ideas in every adventure. If she’s not traveling, chances are high Libby reading a book with Buster not too far away.
